Resurrection Morning from the White Memorial Church Art Preservation Project

This piece depicts the morning of Christs resurrection and the amazement of Mary as she finally comes to understand it all.

This image would have been the first thing people would have seen when entering the Struthers school building, from which it was acquired, those many years ago. Showing us the truth of where our values come from. And how important Christianity is to our education system. And how much this city believes it is foundational. They believe it is necessary in order to have a society who's love is firing on all cylinders and who care and respect each other.

The piece is, without doubt, burned into the memory of the older generation of this area and we hope it brings back that nostalgia and warmth to their hearts and minds when they finally see it again. You see, these windows are covered from the outside with a sheet of plexiglass. The plexiglass panels have become cloudy and scratched through the ages and are in need of nice, new sheets. The windows need professionally cleaned to remove all the mold swirls and the missing lead lines, between legs, fingers and panes. New clear coverings are needed, so that they can ignite the area again with a holy awe! But, due to the cost of huge sheets of the material, the church has not been able to put up new ones.

Its also the reason that this particular collection is so rare. These particular canvases hold each of the windows present flaws and missing panes. Once the windows are restored completely, getting images again like these will be impossible. We are capturing them in their very last breaths before they are, in faith, rescued as Peter was before he went totally under! God did it then and He can do it again!

It will not show up on the print you receive. The unframed prints and the images on the home page are exactly how all the finished products actually look. So rest assured that they are amazing prints and do not actually have little blue squares all over the faces. I just happened to notice it and I did not want anyone to fear that their beautiful canvas would have that overlay.
